SeaRAY for unmanned underwater vehicles (1-5kW)
For the kW-scale SeaRAY, we help enable new concepts like vehicle residency and power for remote subsea equipment and sensors. Right now, Subsea 7 sends out a large asset and crew to perform tasks that our system, integrated with their subsea vehicles, can avoid. Navies around the world do the same thing. In addition to power, the SeaRAY will provide real-time comms and data. We are going to have a project next year with ORE Catapult for campaign-based, semi-annual subsea inspections of offshore wind farms using a SeaRAY-powered vehicle; again, avoiding the need for a vessel and crew on-station 24×7. For a different application, an IOC has an umbilical with power failing in the North Sea. The SeaRAY can cost effectively and efficiently provide power to subsea equipment along that umbilical, helping to preserve the revenue stream in a cost-effective manner. Another IOC is considering use of a SeaRAY to power a resident vehicle and environmental sensors for unmanned monitoring of a well nearing decommissioning, reducing end-of-life costs.
