Columbia Power Technologies, Inc. (C·Power) was formed in 2005 by Greenlight Energy Resources, Inc. From the beginning, we’ve focused on delivering a floating, offshore energy solution that our customers want to buy; one that is survivable and cost-effective with the lowest environmental impact possible.
C·Power’s corporate office is located in Charlottesville, VA and our product development team is based in Corvallis, OR. Our team has over 150 years of successful management, operating, and engineering experience in energy, early stage, and Fortune 500 companies.
A key component of C·Power’s product development strategy is to partner with world-class engineering, design and manufacturing partners. This extended team of supply chain partners is second-to-none and, in their respective industries, represent some of the most experienced companies worldwide.
Aisha McKee — R&D Mechanical Engineer, Social Media Coordinator
Ms. McKee is C·Power’s newest hire, joining the company in the spring of 2018. As a R&D Mechanical Engineer, she is in charge of the mooring system, the emergency systems, and the auxiliary systems. She also serves as the social media coordinator for C·Power. She recently graduated from Oregon State University with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on marine renewable energy, and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Loyola Marymount University. Ms. McKee is also the events coordinator for the International Network on Offshore Renewable Energy (INORE) and an active member of Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
Bradford Lamb — President & COO
Mr. Lamb has 30 years of sales and sales management experience. Previously as a co-founder, he served as President & COO of InteLex Corporation, a trusted-source provider of online academic research in over 40 countries since 1995. Prior to InteLex, he spent ten years with GE Medical Systems, in both the US and Asia, where he held posts in sales and sales management of the full line of capital medical diagnostic imaging equipment. Mr. Lamb received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Ocean Renewable Energy Coalition Permitting Committee.
Ean Amon — Senior R&D Electrical Engineer
An Oregon native, Dr. Amon received his B.S, M.S., and Ph.D. from Oregon State University, focusing on power electronics and controls for maximizing power production in wave energy applications. He then transitioned to a role as a Test Engineer for the Pacific Marine Energy Center (formerly known as NNMREC) as well as a Faculty Research Assistant in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at OSU. Dr. Amon is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and joined C·Power in 2015 as a Senior R&D Electrical Engineer. In his current role, he designs and manages the electrical and SCADA systems on the WEC. Dr. Amon also leads C·Power ‘s Low-Power Applications project.
Erik Hammagren — R&D Mechanical Engineer
Since joining C·Power as a MECOP intern in 2009, Mr. Hammagren has become an integral part of the engineering team and currently serves as a Research & Development Mechanical Engineer, handling the assembly of our current prototype. He is the Assistant Principal Investigator for C·Power ‘s Full-Scale, Open-Water Test in Hawaii. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University. Previously, he worked as a NC Programmer with Boeing. Mr. Hammagren enjoys running, biking, and snowboarding through the mountains of Oregon.
Joseph Prudell — Director of Oregon Corporate Operations, Senior R&D Electrical Engineer
Mr. Prudell started working with C·Power during his graduate degree at Oregon State University in 2005 and officially became an employee in 2008. He is currently the Principal Investigator for C·Power’s Rotary Direct-Drive Test. Prior to earning his Masters, Mr. Prudell worked at Portland General Electric and served in the U.S. Navy. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Oregon and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, camping, farming, and hiking.
Kelen O’Hearn — Project Manager
While Mr. O’Hearn only recently became a full-time employee of C·Power , he has been involved with C·Power projects for several years as the manufacturing engineering lead at Why’s Consulting. In his new position, he is in charge of designing the climate control system for the generator as well as various mechanical systems for the Power Take-Off. He also serves as the Assistant Project Manager for C·Power’s Structural Optimization project as well as the Rotary Direct-Drive Test. He enjoys skydiving and golfing in his spare time.
Michael Ondusko — VP of Operations
Michael joined C·Power in 2014 as a Project Manager and currently serves as VP of Operations. He started his career with Allison Gas Turbine as a test engineer and then a design engineer. Later, he moved to the GM Truck Group supporting high volume production plants as a manufacturing as well as a ride and handling development engineer. As his love of trucks grew, so did the trucks he worked on; moving from the Great Lakes and pickups, to the Pacific Northwest and Freightliner. Along the way, he gained 30 years of project management experience and served in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Corps as Signals Intelligence Analyst. Michael did his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue and graduate studies at Michigan. He is also an instructor with Team Oregon’s motorcycle rider training program.
Pukha Lenee-Bluhm — Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer
Mr. Lenee-Bluhm is a Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer for C·Power. He is the Principal Investigator for C·Power’s Structural Optimization project. He earned is Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from OSU. Additionally, Mr. Lenee-Bluhm serves as a Subject Matter Expert on the International Electrotechnical Commission’s (IEC) Technical Specification on Wave Energy Resource Assessment and Characterization (IEC TC114/PT62600-101). He appreciates the continued opportunity to utilize his knowledge of ocean waves, mechanical systems, and their interactions to collaborate in research, design, and assessment contributing to the successful development of a robust and survivable wave energy conversion system.
Reenst Lesemann — CEO
Mr. Lesemann has 25 years of operational, executive, and financial experience in his career. Prior to C·Power, he co-founded a seed and early stage venture fund, Tall Oaks Capital Partners, where he served as Managing Director and CFO. He has run a series of successful businesses, including a maritime logistics spin off, TradeSource, Inc. that he created, led and managed. During his career, he has been responsible for all aspects of business management including strategic planning, marketing, and information services. Mr. Lesemann’s customers ranged from Fortune 50 to small businesses and were located in over 20 countries. Mr. Lesemann graduated from the University of North Carolina with a B.A. in History (Honors). He also holds a MBA from the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business.
Ty Toney — CAD Tech, Assistant Project Manager, IT Support
Mr. Toney has been involved with C·Power since 2011. He started as a temporary employee and was soon hired as a full-time employee with the company. He is the Assistant Project Manager for C·Power’s Full-Scale, Open-Water Test in Hawaii.
Zhe Zhang — Senior R&D Electrical Engineer
Zhe Zhang received his B.S. and M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Oregon State University in 2009 and 2011, respectively. His research was in the area of control, power electronics, SCADA and numerical modeling; specifically advanced control techniques for various renewable energy conversion applications such as wave power generation. He has performed research on C·Power projects since 2009 and began working for C·Power in 2011. He brings a strong capability to rapidly adapt to new modeling challenges. Currently, Mr. Zhang serves as the Principal Investigator for C·Power’s Dynamic Controls project with Sandia National Laboratory as well as our Load Measurements project with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
